I think we would all agree that 2020 was at best an unforeseen and a surprising year, a disastrous, annoying, boring, exhausting and lonely for most of others. What is certain, everyone has been affected in one way or another. Some have however managed to find an opportunity and create something valuable in it. Why not try doing the same?
Most of us have been eager to bid this year goodbye preferably even before it’s over. Alas! It would be a shame to do that before we learn something about ourselves and our needs from this 2020 experience. We all know that difficult moments are a great opportunity for us to learn. I personally have also turned my life around. The opportunity was staring me right in my face and all I had to do was to say yes. After 20 years of working in the humanitarian field, I left it with immense gratitude for the extraordinary life I have been able to lead, phenomenally inspiring and courageous people I have been able to meet. I’ve made a massive overhaul in my life both professionally and privately. I moved back to my country, more importantly, became a full-time life coach and facilitator of self-development, decided to be more true to myself, to use those skills and capacities that have been dormant for a long time. Bottom line, to serve better! And here are a few questions that allow me and I am positive would help you to reflect on 2020 and to consciously construct a better 2021!
What am I learning from 2020?
- What has served me well and I want to keep on doing?
- What has not worked at all and I want to eliminate from my life?
- Which relationships have been helpful and allowed me to have meaningful exchanges and which ones I want to get rid off?
- What has been my prevailing mood?
And what to ask ourselves for 2021?
- What do I want to change in 2021?
- What’s the pattern I do not want to repeat in 2021?
- What is a major goal I want to accomplish in 2021?
Ideally, you write this all down and give it a good thought. You don’t need to take any resolutions and certainly not on 01.01, because they almost never work and your gym provider knows this well;-)
